Evaluation of the physical and mechanical properties of cylindrical test bodies of scheelite waste and stone powder.

Aiming to insert this sector of the economy in the parameters of sustainable development, several researches are being carried out to use these residues from the mineral extraction to manufacture new materials. This work consists of the joint application of scheelite waste (SW) with stone powder (SP), in cement and / or hydrated lime compositions to produce cylindrical test bodies. The physical, chemical and mineralogical characterization of the raw materials was carried out. The samples were molded at 50%SW 50%SP in percentages of 6% to 12% of hydrated lime and / or cement that were cured of 28 to 150 days and submitted to the tests of mechanical resistance and water absorption. The experimental results of the formulations 50%SW 50%SP for 6% and 12% of cement presented a compressive strength above 2Mpa and low water absorption in the shortest cure time, satisfy the requirements of the standards NBR 12025/2012 and NBR 13555/2012.
