Ba-DOPED BiFeO3 NANOCRYSTALLINE POWDER OBTAINED BY A MODIFIED PECHINI METHOD USING MICROWAVE ENERGY

Abstract
08-072 Ariane Vilca Suarez Suarez, A.V.(Universidade Federal de São Carlos); Perdomo, C.F.(Universidade Federal de São Carlos); Gunnewiek, R.F.(Universidade Federal de Alfenas); Bi(1-x)BaxFeO3 (x=0, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, 0.25 mol) nanoparticles were successfully prepared by a modified Pechini method using microwave energy. A comprehensive study of the method will be described focusing the second stage of the process, poly-esterification to form a solid polymeric resin using microwave energy. The resulting materials of this study were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and magnetic measurements. The results indicate that using microwave energy BiFeO3 nanoparticles showed room temperature ferromagnetic behaviors which can be increased with barium doping increment.
